Shirley Bojang

I am an English woman married to an African man, who was born in The Gambia. I have been a qualified nurse for 40 years and have worked for many health care agencies during that time, including the NHS for 30 years. I have therefore, obtained a wealth of knowledge and experience during the span of my career.
Over the past two years I have visited The Gambia five times, with a view to settling there in the long term, and have been making plans along those lines. With this in mind, I wanted to look into their health care provision to see where I could ‘fit in’ in the future.
Initially, I had planned to work over there as a nurse, but once I started visiting the hospitals, I realised that there was a chronic lack of basic equipment needed to provide suitable care to those who needed it.
I decided that I would be more help to the hospitals in the long term, if I was able to assist them to fund and provide the equipment that they so badly needed for their future development and progress.
Lamin Sanyang

Lamin Sanyang is a satisfy system administrator and IT technician his involvement in community work dates way back when he was in school. He was involved and took a leadership role from a very young age. He organized students and his peers on ‘tree planting exercise’ during the rainy season so as to preserve the environment and combat soil degradation

Yunusa is a gentleman who is sociable, amiable, humble and ready to give his best. He joined a lot of extracurricular activities while in school which molded him to become a volunteer and community worker. He is an executive member of both formal and informal associations and clubs in his community, at the workplace and on the work front, because of his sterling leadership qualities and trust, He is the Secretary of Nawec Staff Association and a keen follower of the company’s football club. His strong commitment and hard work has earned him a lot of admiration and plaudits among his peers.

He is the co-founder, and a successful Businessman. He is an inspiration and icon amongst his peers and acquaintances. He is a man who never shies away from facing challenges and responsibilities within his community and beyond, he is widely known and recognised for his diligence, hard work, dedication and self-discipline.

He is a Civil Servant with a wealth of experience and interacts with the community and knows how they live and feel. He fully engages in youth matters and community work, He was nominated as Public Relations Officer as he possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
Saikou Sanyang

This gentleman is an asset to the community and the country as a whole. His contributions towards youth empowerment and sports development cannot be overemphasized. He started social work and youth activism while in school. When it comes sports he’s a pillar of the community and plays a major role in the development of football in the District. He is an Executive member of the Foni District Sports Association and a member of the West Coast Sports Development Association which organises and supervises all the sporting activities.
Modou Bojang
Board Member
Modou is a Legal Clerk by profession, and as a member of the Board will further boost and motivate us. As a person working in the legal arena for decades, he will no doubt guide and lead us in the correct direction. Modou’s engagement with the community and youth matters date way back to when he was going to school. He was instrumental in organising communal cleansing of public places, and he was extremely focused in making sure the communities have access to health care, clean drinking water and other social services.
